The Village

“The Village” is a mosaic patio or stone rug commissioned by the Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County. It celebrates their Founders Club, a group of donors, devoted staff, and long-term volunteers that have contributed to the organization’s success. The names of key supporters are engraved on the outer ring of stones.

I developed the design to celebrate the larger community that embraces the club. The historic Hendersonville courthouse is one of the buildings seen in the mosaic. The design features a patchwork of colorful stone scraps, scrounged from local granite fabricators who make countertops for high-end homes.

When the Boys and Girls Club built a new facility, we helped them relocate the mosaic to a new site and added an extra ring of stones on the outside, allowing them to honor additional contributors.
